Industrial License

Industrial License is a permit issued by the local authorities. These licenses are issued based on the type of industrial activity that is being carried out. It is required for all kinds of industrial activities including manufacturing, processing, storage and distribution of goods. Industrial Licenses are issued by the Department of Economic Development (DED).

The license is issued after complete verification of all legal documents and submission of all required fees. 

An investor who wishes to set up an industry in Dubai should possess a physical warehouse. The warehouse will be used as a place where raw materials or semifinished products are stored before they are subjected to further transformation and manufacturing process.

Who can apply for an Industrial License?

Industrial license is given to investors and businesses that use raw materials or natural resources to manufacture finished goods. It can be done manually or mechanically, and raw materials or semi-manufactured materials are used for the process. Production, segregation, accumulation, and packaging are other industrial license activities most common for an industrial license.

Documents Required for Industrial License:

  1. Report of the factory’s plans, the reason and aim of opening the factory, production tools data, production cost and capital, and information on financial support or funding for the factory.
  2. Passport & Visa Copy
  3. Feasibility study
  4. Partnership contract in case of partnership firms
  5. Copy of the Balance Sheet
  6. National Media Council Approval
  7. Approval from the Ministry of Health
  8. Approval from the Ministry of Environment and Water
  9. Ministry of Interior Approval
